A lot of fans and entertainment media were surprised to see Sunshine Dizon sporting a thin-reed figure. How on earth did she do it?

At
the
launching
of
GMA
7’s
“Encantadia,”
many
have
given
Sunshine
a
curious
second
look.
She
was
theslimmest
among
the
stars
of
the
show.
Why,
she’s
even
slimmer
than
Karylle.
And
to
think
that
she
was
almost
overweight
before.
The
young
actress
dismissed
rumors
about
her
involvement
in
drugs
as
the
reason
why
she
lost
weight
very
fast.
She
claims
to
have
been
working
out,
checking
on
her
diet
and
working
a
lot.
“You
think
whatever
you
want
to
think
basta
ako
I
know
the
truth.
I
know
what’s
really
happening.
If
I’m
doing
that,
I
don’t
think
GMA
will
give
me
something
as
big
as
this,”
she
wailed.
As
Pirena
in
Encantadia,
Sunshine
is
given
a
chance
to
show-off
some
of
her
fighting
skills.
And
in
preparation
for
the
fight
scenes,
she
was
trained
in
some
form
of
martial
arts
which
she
says
contributes
to
her
weight
loss.
“Mahirap
ang
fight
scenes
namin
rito,
pero
okay
lang.
Mabigat
rin
ang
training
namin
kasi
dapat
sa
mga
ganitong
eksena,
maliksi
ka,”
she
shared.
In
order
to
fit
in
the
requirements
of
her
role,
Sunshine
stopped
eating
foods
rich
in
carbohydrates.
“I
just
take
proteinrich
foods
and
veggies,”
she
quipped.
Sunshine
admits
she
underwent
liposuction
as
she
really
wanted
to
get
off
her
fat.
It
was
in
September
and
since
then,
she
gradually
lost
weight.
She
also
cited
her
workload
as a
contributing
factor
to
her
weight
loss.
Take
this.
She’s
taping
two
days
for
Encantadia
and
another
two
days
for
“Bahay
Mo
Ba
‘To.”
And
as
we
all
know,
these
tapings
last
until
the
wee
hours
of
the
morning,
truly
a
very
physically-taxing
activity.
The
young
actress
was
amazed
at
the
colossal
scope
of
the
new
fantaserye.
She
was
so
impressed
by
the
set,
costume
and
design.
On
her
first
taping
day,
she
was
bewildered
when
she
was
asked
to
fit
the
head
dress.
She
even
got
to
wear
contact
lens.
“I
didn’t
expect
it
to
be
thisawesome.
Okay,
this
is
really
big,”
was
all
she
could
say.
It’s
been
more
than
one
year
that
Sunshine
and
her
former
boyfriend
Polo
Ravales
have
separated
and
now
that
they
are
both
in
the
cast
of
Encantadia,
tongues
were
wagging
about
the
possibility
of
reconciliation
between
them.
To
this,
Sunshine
said,
“Sabi
nila
huwag
ka
raw
magsasalita
ng
patapos.
I
like
my
relationship
with
Polo
right
now.
We’re
friends.
My
mom
is
friends
with
his
mom,
close
‘yong
family
namin.
I’d
like
to
keep
it
like
that.
Masaya
na
‘ko
doon,”
Sunshine
admits
not
having
time
to
even
talk
to
her
ex-boyfriend
even
though
they’re
part
of
the
same
show.
Whatever
she
has
little
time
during
the
taping,
she
uses
it
to
nap.
“But
you
know,
I
sometimes
get
to
talk
to
him.”
But
she
emphasized
that
she’s
happy
just
being
a
friend
to
Polo.
“Mahirap
kapag
katrabaho
mo
‘yong
boyfriend
mo.
Paano
kapag
nag-away
kayo,
eh
di
masisira
‘yong
acting
mo,
di
ba?”
she
concluded.
